HISTORY

1909 Seiji Masui, the founder, opened the Masui Shoten in Nakadachi-Uri Agaru, Kuromon Dori, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto and began to import mainly raw silk and tussar silk yarn from China.
1919 The short fiber, the bright yarn manufacturing factory was opened in Marutamachi Agaru, Higure Dori, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto. Manufacturing of mosquito net yarn and tussar silk yarn twisting and refining took place here.
1920 Products from the Yonezawa and Hiroshima factories of Teikoku Jinzo-Kenshi Kaisha, Ltd. (currently Teijin Limited) began to be carried.
1921 In Murasakino Monzencho, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto, arefiningand throwing factory was set up. A new usage as electric cable coating for insulation was developed, and sales began.
1923 Manufacturing and sales of Lily rayon yarn and various other threads for handicrafts began at the Murasakino factory listed above.
1924 Koshin Shokai & Co., Ltd., the subsidiary company, was founded in Meguro-ku, Tokyo. The Masui Shop Tokyo Branch Office was opened in the same location.
1925 The headquarters was moved to a newly built location in Imadegawa, Chiekoin Dori, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto. Became the sole agent for Mie Jinzo-Kenshi Co., Ltd.
1926 In addition to becoming the sole rayon importer for SNIA and SHIOSA, began imports and sales for hollow rayon Selter.
1928 Became the sole agent for Toyo Rayon Co., Ltd. (currently Toray Industries).
1931 Established Masui Shoten General Partnership Company. Carried on the business of Masui Shop. The Osaka Branch Office was opened in Awajimachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka.
1932 Became a member of the Osaka Rayon Exchange.
1934 Became the sole agent for Teikoku Jinzo-Kenshi Kaisha, Ltd. and Showa Jinken Co., Ltd.
1939 Established Maruten Kogyo Co., Ltd., the subsidiary, in Anto, Manchuria (currently Dandong, Liaoning, China).
The Kyoto branch of the company was placed in Masui Shop General Partnership Company, and exporting from Japan to Manchuria began.
1942 Maruten Cast Iron Co., Ltd., the subsidiary, was established in Anshan, Manchuria, and production of cast iron began.
1943 The name of Masui Shoten General Partnership Company was changed to Masui General Partnership Company.
1944 Due to the act of industrial adjustment in wartime, the company was integrated into Nihon Jinken-ito Tosei Hanbai Co., Ltd., and operations halted temporarily.
1947 Operations resumed after being registered by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as a fabric material shop.
1948 Seiji Masui passed away, and Eizo Masui was appointed as the representative partner.
1951 MASUI Co., Ltd. (capital of 1 million yen) was founded. Carried on the business of Masui General Partnership Company.
1952 Expanded sales while developing nylon yarn for Toyo Rayon Co., Ltd. (currently Toray Industries).
1957 Opened the Kahoku Contact Office in Kahoku, Ishikawa.
1958 Increased capital (new capital of 2.5 million yen) and acquired capital participation from Teijin Limited and Toray Industries.
1962 Became the sole agent for Kurashiki Rayon Co., Ltd. (currently Kuraray Co., Ltd.).
1963 Expanded the Kahoku Contact Office to the Kahoku Branch Office.
1964 Increased capital (capital of 5 million yen).
1965 Became a friendly trading company of the overseas trade division of China, and began importing raw silk and tussar silk yarn from Chinese textile companies.
1970 Opened the Tango Contact Office in Omiyacho, Kyoto.
1971 Increased capital (new capital of 10 million yen) and moved the headquarters to a newly built location in Hirano Hatchoyanagicho, Kita-ku, Kyoto to celebrate the 20th anniversary since founding.
Acquired capital participation from Kuraray Co., Ltd. Became the sole agent for Asahi Kasei Corporation.
1972 Established Masui Trading Company through restoration of diplomatic relations between Japan and China.
1986 Began trading directly with Chinese trading companies.
1994 Increased capital (new capital of 11 million yen), rebuilt the Kahoku Branch Office, and invested in J&S Metallic Yarn Co., Ltd.
2001 Opened the Masui Qingdao Office and established the Qingdao Masui Trading Corporation.
2002 Opened the Tokyo Office (currently the business office) in Nihonbashi Horidomecho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
Proactively hired foreign workers and mid-career workers to further improve human resources.
2003 Keiji Masui, the current president, was appointed as the president and representative director, the Ichinomiya Branch Office was opened, and the small and medium enterprise retirement benefit and mutual aid scheme was implemented.
2004 The headquarters were moved to the Nihon Seimei Kyoto Santetsu Building in Higashi Shiokoji-cho, Shimogyo-Ku, Kyoto, and Masui Trading Company was absorbed.
2005 Opened the Fukui Office in Senkyo Building Room 715 in 3 Chome-7-1 Ote, Fukui.
2006 Established Snappy Auction Co., Ltd. as a wholly owned subsidiary. Opened the (fully owned by Japan) Qingdao Masui Corporation.
Established C&C Corporation and entered the restaurant industry. Established the first mid-term plan and the new human resource policy.
2007 Acquired capital participation from the Bank of Kyoto, Ltd., and restructured the company from 3 sales departments and 11 business units to 2 sales departments and 6 business units.
2009 Moved the headquarters to a building acquired in 328 Sashimono-cho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto.
2010 Increased capital (new capital of 12 million yen)
2011 Established employment regulations and family and medical leave regulations.
2012 Increased capital (new capital of 14 million yen).
2013 Moved the Tokyo Office to the 5th Floor of the Hayami Building in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Began operations of the new core system.
Acquired Osaka Sugimoto Co., Ltd. through mergers and acquisitions.
2015 Began the female career promotion project and started internal language studies.
Purchased a membership resort facility (XIV Toba) as a facility for employee benefits.
2016 Integrated systems with OSAKA SUGIMOTO Co., Ltd. and built a linked structure.
2017 Started the 3rd sales department (textile business). Opened the Ashikaga Branch Office. Began the human resource policy reform project.
Opened the 1st beauty salon treatment shop "B'PRODUCE" in Okazaki, Aichi. Implemented the childcare leave policy.
Created and implemented the new employee training and nurturing program.
Held a commemorative event at XIV Kyoto Yase Rikyu to commemorate the joint establishment of MASUI Co., Ltd. and OSAKA SUGIMOTO Co., Ltd.
Moved the headquarters to 3 Chome-3-13 Inabashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka.
Established KB TEXTILE Co., Ltd.
2018 Holding Company, Masui Holdings Co.,Ltd is fonded.      Open "B'PRODUCE" Nishio Branch.
At signing ceremony for "the 14th Uzbekistan-Japan Economic Committees", conclude MOU(Memorandum of Understanding)in the silk garment field between Uzbekistan silk industrial society and Masui Co., Ltd with Uzbekistan silk industrial society.
Employee association "Hishiesukai" whose main purpose is welfare is incorporated.
Real estate department, esthetics department, and food Department are company split and trasferred to "Adapt Co., Ltd".
President Mr.Keiji Masui retired President & Representative Director.
2019 Mr.Kenichi Osagawa becomes the President & Representative Director.
RPA(Robotic Process Automation)was introduced in part of administrative works.
A new severance package system started. Defined Contribution Plans were introduced.
The 110th anniversary party was held at Conrad Osaka.
Platinum Horse, White Mountain, Rayon Viscose filament yarn, was certified as Eco Mark products.
CEO Keiji Masui attended a welcome reception for the President of Uzbekistan at The Prime Minister's Official Residence.
The MOU(Memorandum of Understanding)for textile business development was signed among Masui Co.,LTD, the Uztekstilprom Association and Art Soft Textile at the Japan-Uzbekistan Business Forum.

2020

Masui Holdings Co., Ltd. Increased capital (new capital of 6.3 million yen) and acquired capital participation from Osaka Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co.,Ltd(SBIC West Japan)
officially joined BCI(Better Cotton Initiative).
B'PRODUCE TOYODA opened. The Tokyo office moved to 8F ERVIC NINGYOCHO,1-2-5 NIHONBASHI-NINGYOCHO,CHUO-KU, TOKYO 103-0013 JAPAN.
Introduced the flextime working hours to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 infection. Introduced the remote working system to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
Exhibited at the Hokuriku Yarn Fair 2020.
Released the recycle polyester yarn "mecoltone" color book.
The Fukui office moved to MITANICHUO-BLDG 3-1-5 CHUO FUKUI-CITY,FUKUI, 910-0006, JAPAN.

Obtained a FSC(Forest Stewardship Council) certificate as part of sustainable activities.
Declared GOAL7,9,11,13,14,15 of the SDGs.
Released " BULKURL ", linen-like new texture material, "CR", Rayon Cool feeling material, " Mecol Tone S(staple)" "SAMARQANDARYO Organic Cotton"
Cloudfunded "Anti-static scarf" on Makuake and achieved SUCCESS.
